Guess Who’s Back, Back Again (With New Makeup)

To those who have dedicated to reading this blog, I am sorry for my absence lately. Without too much delay, it’s time to get back in the swing of things.

Online shopping is so therapeutic after a stressful day/week/month, so I thought I was going to be doing some serious damage last week. Boy, was I wrong. The deals that were happening were so insanely good that I had no buyer’s remorse after purchasing the products. I rejoiced because I happened to stumble upon ColourPop at the right time.

I made my first, and not last, purchase from ColourPop with two gel eyeliners, three satin liquid lipsticks, three eyeshadow pigments and two mini liquid lipsticks.

The Grand Total: $31.99, with free shipping
Perspective: Holy crap, that is what I pay for my mascara. It is amazing mascara, though.

I have been wanting to try the ColourPop Satin Liquid Lipsticks for a while and chose some basic pink, nude colors. Their satin lip is NOT as drying as a matte lip, so if you have been wanting to try a cheap go-around for a matte lipstick try these suckers out.

For how good the deal was, I decided that maybe I should try a full face using affordable products.

Makeup Used:
Wet n Wild Photofocus Foundation: $5.99
Morphe x KathleenLights Palette, limited edition: $14.99
ColourPop Satin Liquid Lip in Aquarius: $6
ColourPop Gel Liner in HoneyDude: $5
Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer: $14.99
Milani Make it Last Setting Spray: $10
EcoTools Perfecting Blender: $5.99

The cool thing about the products listed is that I got all of them for less than their actual price point. Whether it was from special offers, coupons, promo codes or points I acquired at Ulta or Walgreens.

The Wet n Wild foundation is quite nice for the price point. It does smell like paint, not going to lie. Although the foundation was a bit light on me, a little bronzer goes a long way. I recommend blending the foundation with a wet beauty blender because it can dry pretty fast. I have tried higher-end makeup that does not work as well as this SIX DOLLAR FOUNDATION.
*Mind blown*

The ColourPop cosmetics were amazing as well. Even after eating a rather large portion of buffalo chicken dip and drinking diet coke…I really need to start eating healthier…my liquid lip stayed on and did not look patchy or messy! I also loved the gel liner. I chose HoneyDude because lighter liners on the waterline make your eyes pop especially when there is a lot of color going on with the eyeshadows on the lid.

Although the Morphe x KathleenLights palette is limited edition, I highly recommend looking at Morphe’s website. Their eyeshadows have amazing pigment and blend-ability. I also have brushes from Morphe that are super soft and durable.

Overall, everything used can be a dupe for higher end products.
*Mind blown again*

Did I cheat? Of course. I have some staple products in my makeup that our higher end, but they give me the bang for their buck. I use Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Face Primer because it is silicone-free and contains coconut water for my dry skin. Similarly, it is hard to part from my Cover FX Perfect Setting Powder in translucent light because it does not emphasize my dry patches.

As for my Urban Decay concealer and Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face Palette, I have no excuses… I just love them so.

Note: If you have sensitive skin or find it hard to part from your more expensive cosmetics, incorporate them one at a time with your makeup routine. For instance, instead of trying a new primer with a new foundation, try a new foundation with a primer you trust and know will not do you wrong. That way the product can have a fair shot with your skin.

The Final Result:

And that concludes another fun makeup post. Like I’ve said in the past, I’m not a makeup artist, nor do I pretend to be one (Ok I do, but it is only when I am talking to myself in the mirror while doing makeup and listening to “That’s my Girl” by Fifth Harmony in the background).

If you have any makeup product dupes for higher end makeup, let me know! I love finding good deals! Also, if you’re interested in any makeup tutorials (HA! I’m not that good but I can try) comment down below.
